We have installed numerous programs for users on their workstations. We
install as the administrators for the machines. Many times afterwards when a
user begins using the machine they get access denied errors.
Classic example is our anti-virus software. It generates logfiles ...

I installed a second hard drive on my system.  Does XP automatically
allocate/access files to/from this drive?  Or, do I need to specifically
select this drive when installing new applications/files?

Hi, I have a brand new computer. So my Norton is popping up quiet a bit. It
ask wether to allow or block certain things. I hit Always Block when it
showed an Alert. Now I cannot acces the internet with my Norton AntiVirus on.
It says cannot find server. Did I block my own server? ...

they autostart when launching Windows.

After a recent update, I've lost the ability to change anything in the
Security Center. It says that the items are protected due to settings in
group policy. I've looked this up in the support and it talks about Server
2003 setting the group policy. This computer is not on a LAN ...

I have multiple users who are not administrators that need to be able to
format a USB memory stick.  When attempting to do so they get a insufficient
privleges dialog box.  Is there a workaround for this.

I went into control panel and deleted the admin account. I cannot figure out
how to get it back and in the mean time I am unable to do anything on my
computer. can  some one please help me. Of course I don't have the the XP CD
and I can't get to the restore.

So I have bought McAfee Internet Security Suite 2007, and when I put the CD
in the D: drive, I get an error message that reads "Unable to setup the frame

I would like to roll out a GPO that disables the XP Firewall while attached
to our Domain.  The policy should enable the Firewall when the Doamin is not

properties from users.  We don't want them to be able to change
permissions, but still require them to use shadow copy.
