After installing SP2 on my XP Home Edition, I loose all internet connectivity. Opening a browser causes the browser to stay up for a second and then shuts down. In-installing SP2 gives me back my internet connectivity. What am I doing incorrectly?

have been receiving lot and lots of failed e mails, that are returned to me by 'mail demon' and others from addresses I don't recognise and to people I've never heard of! Recently I've sent a couple of e mails to people that haven't arrived with them.

If installing the security updates using windows update service, all issued updates are being downloaded and installed on the fly. Single system restart is required finalizing windows update process.
