Hi, trying to secure my laptop I removed my user account from the
Administrator group and have managed to lock out the Administrator account
due to entering the wrong password a number of times.

Help needed with hijacker cns min
I have windows xp, free avg anti virus and bt yahoo anti-spy. Recently
after my anti-spy scan, I am left with cns min hijacker, which it says

second hard drive. After merrily deleting almost everything in My Documents
on what I thought was my second drive, I discovered that I had deleted the
actual real deal My Documents on my primary drive! ...

I am the Admin on a family shared computer, is there a way I can temporarily
disable one of the users from logging on to the pc?

Have a PC here that recently had a virus and spyware infection, although
these have now been removed we cannot turn on the windows firewall. Have
tried resetting the Winsock chain but it has made no difference, I have
noticed tho that if I go to control panel/administrative ...

At times, like reboot or trying to delete a program I get a message telling
me other users are using a program and ask if I wish to continue closing it.
Can anyone tell me what this is about and how to fix it if it is a problem?

I recently installed Zone Alarm firewall.  After many problems including
freezes, crashes, etc., I uninstalled Zone Alarm.  After that, Windows
Firewall was turned on by default.  Now two of my programs that use FTP won't
work unless the Windows Firewall is manually turned off.  ...

Until now we've been using the Windows 2000 style Start menu on our XP
machines. Mainly from a training perspecrtive, our users found it more
familiar when we upgraded them to XP.  I set the "Force Classic Start Menu"
group policy and set the classic theme on the staff GPO and ...

I had a pc that died, running xp.  Installed hd on new pc as 2nd dr.  How can
I access pw protected files.  Anyone have any suggestions?

I work in a small company with mostly XP Pro PCs but we do have XP Home
on about 4 PCs. My dilemma:
There are only two rights options for users, Administrator or Limited.

I recently added our network PCs to a Windows domain.
Once I did that, the power management stopped working correctly.  I have the
monitors set to power off after 4 hours, but they actually power off after
about 20 or 30 minutes.

I have posted about this problem before and thought we had sorted it,
but..............
I had a GP which had file sharing set to classic and SFS was still enabled
on all my workstations.

i would like to know how one can restrict guest users, l so they can not d/l
programs, (restrict the RUN command as an example), etc. basicly how i create
an account like those of public based pc that restrict users to basic only
web/email/functions etc.

I have been recieveing a pop-up for a long time saying
SIEUpdates.exe.has not been updated in the last 14 days.help what can I
do when i push ok it say's it can't find it.well neither can I is there
