XP Pro, SP2, fully updated. Hi, trying to secure my laptop I removed my user account from the Administrator group and have managed to lock out the Administrator account due to entering the wrong password a number of times.

At times, like reboot or trying to delete a program I get a message telling me other users are using a program and ask if I wish to continue closing it. Can anyone tell me what this is about and how to fix it if it is a problem?

Hi and thank you in advance for any information you might provide. I work in a small company with mostly XP Pro PCs but we do have XP Home on about 4 PCs. My dilemma: There are only two rights options for users, Administrator or Limited.

I recently added our network PCs to a Windows domain. Once I did that, the power management stopped working correctly. I have the monitors set to power off after 4 hours, but they actually power off after about 20 or 30 minutes.

i would like to know how one can restrict guest users, l so they can not d/l programs, (restrict the RUN command as an example), etc. basicly how i create an account like those of public based pc that restrict users to basic only web/email/functions etc.

I have been recieveing a pop-up for a long time saying SIEUpdates.exe.has not been updated in the last 14 days.help what can I do when i push ok it say's it can't find it.well neither can I is there a way to solve this problem?would be so ever greatful. Louann allred
