OK, so I just got a new computer with a nice new HDD, and I decided that I would give myself a clean install on this new machine on the new HDD. Now I am unable to gain access to the desktop folder of my last install. How can I do that without booting off of the old drive?

My computer is telling me that my firewall is off but I don't seem to be able to turn it back on. When I click on the firewall settings it says "due to an unidentifed problem, firewall settings cannot be shown" or something to that effect. Any suggestions?

It seems that since the last automatic update to my windows system, the security has been giving me a lot of problems sending and receiving emails with attachments and to even see this question pop-up screen, I had to stop a pop up blocker installed on my p.c.

Depending on what group users are in depends are what permissions they have on the local machine. For Example, if a user is part of the local user group he/she cannot change time zone, power settings, connect to secure wireless networks, or install ActiveX® controls, etc.

I have Windows XP Pro. Something in the security log makes me wonder if people are logging into my computer. I logged in as Administrator and opened Computer Management->System Tools->Event Viewer->Security.
