I can't start IX w/o admin rights.  As another user, after double-click,
nothing.  If I right-click on the shorcut bar only, I can start IE an another
user (admin.) and it opens fine.  There must be a security setting I'm

My machine (AMD 64 3000+, ASUS K8V SE Deluxe M/B, 1.5gb DDR 3200 mem, ATI

I bought a computer but can not access the admin account? i contacted the
people that sold me the computer and they said that windows XP automatically
passwords it and told me what to type in to access the admin account but
nothing has worked. What shall I do?

I am running a virus scan in safemode, to prevent possible viruses to
start up*.
But in safe mode DMA is turned off, so the scan takes ages.

it might be time for sp2, or maybe not.  i haven't had need for it yet.
however, i downloaded it and initialized the install.  the install program
will run fine till it gets to checking for space and it hangs up.  the status
bar will go about 75% and then just sit with very little ...
