I have a system with winxp SP2 installed but when i go to it's control panel to find system applet, it is not there. also system configuration utility (MSconfig) and group policy editor does not work.

I am using Windows XP Professional SP2. Recently I made this observation of running processes on my system using the Task Manager. Almost always there is a process running by a random name (such as X18183.exe etc). It runs under the username SYSTEM.

I never use the internet lock, but for some reason it started showing in my sytem tray whenever I start up windows. I need to right click on it and uncheck the engage internet lock when I never checked it in the first place. I do not have that section checked on my ZoneAlarm ...

Hi. I'm struggling a bit to find software that I can use to backup date to a CD-RW and /or DVD-RW without compression. I simply want to drag and drop my data folders to the drive. I don't want a suite that has 50 applets that I'll never use.

I was helping someone who has an XP Home system (Emachines). He was trying to get a site to display that used Adobe Flash. He was sent to the Adobe Flash downloads site, and it appeared that Flash installed but would not display any Flash content.
