Dear sirs, I had my Windows XP update performed on 17Feb07. Afterwards, when I restart the PC, I could not get the sign on screed even I tried to run "Safe Mode". I could see only on the screen with Win XP logo without further motion.

I am unable to logoff (if not shut down) on an intermittend basis. I can continue using the currently running account (limited user of administrator) but Windows XP SP2 does just not logoff (or shut down). How can I determine the root cause?
