When I boot up, the svchost.exe (username: SYSTEM), runs constantly for 10 minutes+ using up almost 99-100% CPU cycles. I rebuilt my system (reinstalled XP Home, SP2) a couple of months ago. This was a similar problem I was having before the rebuild.

Hi, I have a dexktop running XP home edition, networked (wifi) to a laptop running w2k. The XP system shares a folder with the laptop so I can transfer files. That was until last week. Now when I try to acces the XP share folder

I apologies for my curiosity. Have several computers with XP-SP2 (some with W2K) and they all show 3 folders at the Event Viewer (Applications, Security and System). They have also Office 2000, XP and 2003 but only IE6.

On my computer I have somehow downloaded or uploaded something I shouldn't have. Well live and learn. Regardless I now have a problem. One of my scans on my computer claim it is a Vundo Trogan but another scan says I have four seperate trogans.

I have 2 drives on my computer. One cloned from the other. One of my kids is coming to live with me and I would like to have my kids use the 'D' drive for storing files, downloading things to, etc. while I use the 'C' drive. That way, if I ever need too I can just clear the 'D" ...
