svchost.exe using up 99% CPU30 Apr 2007 23:18 GMT5
When I boot up, the svchost.exe (username: SYSTEM), runs constantly for 10
minutes+ using up almost 99-100% CPU cycles.
I rebuilt my system (reinstalled XP Home, SP2) a couple of months ago. This
was a similar problem I was having before the rebuild.

When I click Ctrl+Alt+Del to change domain password, my password has capital
letters, letters and numeric characters with length more than 6. However, it
still prompts me that I must select a password with capital letters, letters

I apologize for the truncated earlier post.  I hit the wrong button.  I have
WinXP that I installed from an upgrade CD and then I updated with SP2 and I
have that CD.  I think I missed a step somewhere about creating a recovery
disk.  I would like to create a bootable recovery ...

Hi,
I have a dexktop running XP home edition, networked (wifi) to a laptop
running w2k. The XP system shares a folder with the laptop so I can transfer
files. That was until last week. Now when I try to acces the XP share folder

it is now working, how i can find which program is using the port 80

I recently had to reformat and reinstall my windows.
When I did, I had to recreate the user profiles for my wife and I.  Before
it would let me, I had to create another (I set one up during the XP install
process) administrator account.  Now, some how, when I look under documents

I apologies for my curiosity.
Have several computers with XP-SP2 (some with W2K) and they all show 3
folders at the Event Viewer (Applications, Security and System). They have
also Office 2000, XP and 2003 but only IE6.

On my computer I have somehow downloaded or uploaded something I shouldn't
have. Well live and learn. Regardless I now have a problem. One of my scans
on my computer claim it is a Vundo Trogan but another scan says I have four
seperate trogans.

I have 2 drives on my computer. One cloned from the other. One of my kids is
coming to live with me and I would like to have my kids use the 'D' drive for
storing files, downloading things to, etc. while I use the 'C' drive. That
way, if I ever need too I can just clear the 'D" ...
