First, my computer is 5 years old and I have had this problem for 1 1/2

case# if needed to verify - it only lasted until I turned my computer off

Hi, I'm running Windows XP Home and have only one user account, set as
computer administrator. However when I try to install programs and access the
'documents' folder in 'my computer', I am blocked. The error message that
appears when trying to install is:

I want to prevent my son from downloading programs and have given him a
limited access. However, he keeps changing his access level - I know he
doesn't have my password so think he might be using safe mode to change his
access. Could this be the case and if so what can I do?

I have a problem getting the Security Center to stay turned on since
uninstalling Norton 2006 and installing Norton 2007. Does anybody have any
ideas? I know how to turn it on - it just wont stay on once the computer has

I done a clean up scan and found two registry changes.  When I ask to see
what they are I find they are entries for programs I downloaded, then erased.
One is Mozilla - probably from the time I tired out Firefox.  The other was

I have an Averatec C3500 Tablet XP PRO computer that has a new hard drive and
motherboard. It has not been on the Internet. I have installed Norton
Internet Security from disk, and also, the MSI Installer Update (downloaded
to another computer and transferred by disk).
