I found 45 processes in running immediately after I start my laptop. Those processes eats up 349 M of memory. I have already use "msconfig" to close unnecessary processes startup with the computer. Could you give me some suggestions to solve the problem?

I am trying to access some XP and 2k systems that are not on any domain with \\ip-addy\c$. when the login window comes up it has the username of \\ip-addy\guest pre-filled and it's greyed out so I can't change it.
