does anyone have an explanation for the following behaviour, which I
have observed on 2 different Windows XP (SP-2) machines, which are not
(and never have been) a member of a domain, and (as far as one can
tell) are mostly on their installation defaults:

It appears that by default, XP profesional folder settings have "Use Simple File Sharing" enabled. But this is preventing $ADMIN shares from working from other computers.

How do I uninstall Windows Security Center?  I think we all know that it is
not listed in Control Panel, Add/Remove Programs nor is an "Uninstall" on the

How to you remove the SP2 Security and Administration Center shield icon from
the systray? I couldn't find an entry in msconfig or startup. I must have
missed an option on install; I removed it from another computer a few weeks
ago, but can't remember how I did it. Thanks.
