can I, given IP address or MAC address, find SID of the computer without
going to AD scan results? Is it a registry key somewhere. I googled and saw
that computer SID is supposed to be in
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SECURITY\SAM\Domains\Account. However on my WindowsXP SP2

I am restricted from my own computer.  can not get in even in safe mode.  
must be a virus of some kind.  no programs seem to be able to find it   no
control panel even in safe mode

I'm trying to install the .Net Framework 3.0 on my Windows XP SP2
workstation but it won't install.  I have .Net 1.1 and 2.0 already installed.

I have a user's machine that has been infected with Vundo.  In the process of
cleaning the machine I discovered 3 profiles labeled Administrator, two with
extensions.  Before I delete the wrong profile and have to reload the machine

can programmatically find out if I'm not authentocated to the domain? If I

called, say,
c:\windows\xyz.exe
I cannot find this file with either the Windows Explorer or the DIR command
