Can anyone tell me why logging into windows XP SP2 the user name comes up as "user" instead of the actual name used/placed into the user account (only one user called XXX on this computer)? It’s not hard to change, but it is annoying to have to change it when there is no "user" ...

I can not turn on auto updates. I went to the strt button keyed in the service command.. I open the auto update properties and try to turn on the auto updates.. no luck.after several attempts it will ccept auto but when I click start it will go bacl todisabled. whats up?

I'm being prompted to "Sign In with Windows Live ID" when I open my "My Documents/My Pictures" folder. This doesn't happen when I'm online....just when I'm accessing my C: drive. Does anyone know what this is and how to make it stop?

I think my Hard drive has a boot sector virus and I'm wondering if it could have been transfered to some data CDs and DVDs. I had connected up a second hard drive and my motherboard alerted me with "Boot sector write", "continue yes/no".

I am using windows xp SP2 home edition. I am the administrator on my PC. But i keep getting this error messages saying that i need to login as administrator on my PC to disable some of the start up services. Also i am not able to access task manager and regedit.
