I had Antivirus2009 on my laptop yesterday and used Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware to remove it. However I have now lost the icon for Windows Security Centre and also I am unable to do a system restore. I just wondered if I posted the Hijackthis log someone could check the virus

I want to create a desktop, using CreateDesktop, that non-system process can't access. The process that creates the desktop is running as system. I don't know much about the security API functions, but I imagine it only takes a few lines of code to create a security

I am having trouble exporting my XP IP Security Policies to my Windows 2000 machine. In XP I can add IP ranges from 193.0.0.0 with subnet mask of 255.0.0.0 In 2000 it says invalid subnet mask for these ranges 193 to 222.0.0.0

I have a WIN32 program which must access unformatted 1394 and USB drives (using \\PHYSICALDRIVEn ). However, I need the program to run from a non-admin account. Is there a way to open up selected physical drives to non-admin access?

I have XP Pro SP3 and EPP. Have just sacked all previous restore points and created one and "tested" a restore. - No Go - System cannot be restored Then disabled EPP by right clicking teh yellow sheild - still no go.
