I'm trying to "fix" my boss's "new" PC which came with XP
Home on it... He loaded a lot of junk into it an is pissed
that it's slow starting up...  Naturally he wants to keep
the software just not load it a startup...

I have a need to be able to run a DOS version of a POS software on XP for a
short period of time until the windows upgrade for the app is available.
Has anyone had occasion to run a Dos app in XP?  What problems if any, were

I was having a few problems with my computer so I decided
to reinstall the op sys.  I installed XP pro over the top
of XP Home.  Somehow, my internet connection was deleted.  
I opened the Connection Wizard and where it says "How

I running a Pentium 166MHz (!)  with WinXP HE SP1. Two months all was OK.
But now I can't shotdown WinXP. Everytime WinXP let the PC reboot!
Could anyone outhere help me?

I have tried numberous times to install the drivers for
the onboard audio.  Most recently, I was in Windows
Update.  When it came to installing the media driver, a
pop-up said:

I can't install windows XP on my computer.  I just bought
a new hard drive, a 40 GB maxtor, and want to install XP
to it.  I started out trying to install it using my XP
upgrade disk.  I created a partition and formatted the
re-enabling L1 Cache and Bios Shadowing after install?24 Jul 2003 07:53 GMT2
Should it be possible to re-enable these bios features
after a successful install, since they enhance system
performance?

I have searched the knowlege base for this error but it
doesn't come up with the same message:
The device driver got stuck in an infinite loop...
framebuf is the file on this blue screen of death...
