i thought i's seen everything until now...
i have a dell laptop and complete docking station,
my cd rom broke down so i purchased a dony external cdrom
crx2100u (usb)

While upgrading my Windows 98se installation everything
went smoothly till the reboot where the GUI was supposed
to fire up for the first time.  Then I get a Windows XP
failed to find C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\CP_497.DLL.

The computer I installed this copy of XP on had a major
hardware failure (the video card cooling fan failed and
the heat buildup destroyed the CPU or MB, I didn't
determine which failed).
