I once saw a Microsoft presentation on what was then a very new Windows XP.
There was a very impressive way to set very specific options in
compatibility mode. This was a long list of items with check boxes to set
how any particular program would use memory, graphics, hard drive ...

I was having trouble with computer so I upgraded to
windows XP from 98. Didn't solve problem, Had to change
harddrive, motherboard and processor. Fixed the problem,
but was told windows will quite working after the 30 days

manufacturer has decided to partition into two 20 GB
logical drives. I want to delete the D: partition and roll
the extra space into C:. I have found out how to remove D:

I have been unable to install a clean copy of XP Pro.
The new hard drive does not automatically load XP Pro even
when bios is set to boot first from the CD Rom.  I have

We just bought a new laptop for my husband, and the local

Recently upgraded to the AMD Athlon 2000 XP cpu, Asus
A7V266-E MB, ATI Radeon 8500 (AGP 128 ram) and PC2100 DDR
Ram (768mb). Can't get Win XP to load (fresh). Keeps
skipping files or crashes (blue screens). Was able to get

I cannot complete the upgrade from ME to XP Home. The
error log at the end lists several rc=32 and error=32
errors. It then instists on rebooting and looping. Any
ideas?

Windows xp pro reboots everutime and does not give me
enough time to see the error.  when i try to do a repair
from the cd  i doensnt see a previous installation of

I just installed WinXP SP1 onto a WinXP Professional
machine.  During the reboot, I got a blue screen that
says c000021a Fatal System Error / Session Manager
Initialization process terminated with a status of

install ok, when re-booting, get i/o device error with
this sxs.dll:syntax error on manifest or policy file
message.  everything new except mouse and keyboard.
