can't install onto serial ATA drive05 Jul 2003 17:50 GMT1
I just bought a maxtor 80 Gb serial ATA drive, and am
trying to install winXP onto it.  I have tried installing
98 onto this drive (no problem) and then upgrading to XP,
but I just perpetually get the blue screen telling me

The problem is that I have Windows ME on C: and WIndows XP
on D: at the same time. At startup it asks which platform
I should load. I wish to uninstall Windows XP so that
Windows ME is the only OS. It is not an upgrade.

I had a major crash on my XP pro. I totally reformatted my
hard drive and have tryed to reinstall XP pro. Each time
it does NOT install ALL the files it needs to complete it
and then wont work.  During the install it says it con not

Recently reformatted and reinstalled windows xp.  Now it
won't let me boot without the windows cd in my drive.  If
the cd is not present it gives me this error "NTLDR
Missing  CTRL + ALT + DEL to restart"

Hi.  Even leaning on F8 doesn't do it.  Is there a way for me to force a
safe mode boot on the next reboot?
I looked at msconfig and couldn't find a boot.ini tab.

My computer runing XP started having problems and every
solution seemed to make it worse.  I saved my Programs
File to another computer (forgot about the address book
and I.E. folders!!!).  Then I tried a repair...XP

I have started an install of windows xp pro it is
full version cd but upgrading home version to pro.
Installed started fine entered number the it whent
through some installs rebooted and started to install
