While upgrading I get message <Windows root>\System32
\hal.dll file missing or corrupted. The file is on the
upgrade CD but upgrade will not continue. The only way
out is to uninstall XP.

Im trying to recover with the 6 disks and keep getting

Sorry for the 101 type question but I had a problem with my installation of
windows XP and had to install the system from the CD as apposed to a folder
(e:\disks\windowsXP\I386) witch I normally do.
