i am installing windows xp home through the boot disks.
when i get to disk 3 the following error occurs.
" The entry "pciide.sys" in the [SourceDisksFiles]
section of the INF file is corrupted or missing.

Upgraded from Win98 to XP.  Tried to reload Systemworks
2002 which worked flawlessly on 98.  LiveUpdate,
Cleansweep, and Antivirus will not load after several

What's the differences between DOS boot disk without CD ROM Drivers, and
Win98 boot disk with CD ROM Support? Both floopy disks have fdisk program.
Win98 boot disk doesn't have format program but DOS boot disk has the format
program.

I have successfully set up a dual boot Win 98SE/XP system using
Partition Magic and Boot Magic. Neither OS can see the other, but the

I have a laptop with a fairly limited (6 Gb) hard drive.
I conduct frequent archiving and maintenance to rid the
drive of junk files.  I am wondering if it is safe to
delete the $NTUninstall... directories that show up in

I created a bootup disk from Windows98, and used it to boot up a new
computer. When I do fdisk, it yields the error "incorrect DOS version." Any

Microsoft Shared Fax Client must be uninstalled.  I can't
locate this file on my system.
