I  was unable to upgrade from ME to XP because the install kept locking up
(even after upgrading the BIOS, drivers etc.). So, I did a new install which
worked. I did not set up a new partition on the hard drive, but I did
install XP in a different folder "C:\WINXP" as opposed to "C ...

OMG my Xp will not install. it gets to this kernal dll
file and just freezes. This does not make sense.  The
computer is a 2.8 ghz p4 ht tech.  This should not be
happening. Some one please help.  It will not let me

For some reason my version of XP Home edition has changed
the action when a folder is opened. Instead of displaying
the contents it now invokes a search facility within the
folder.
