I purchased Windows XP to upgrade from Windows ME. The copy I purchased is an OEM version. When attempting to install, I am not given the option to upgrade; only to install this new OS on another partition.

When I start my cpu it starts fine, I see my cpu info. Then before it gets to the welcome screen, it stops and I get a black screen. If I touch a key on the keyboard it starts and runs fine. What can I do to fix this?
