I just loaded ( well at least tried to load) windows xp
on my computer and installation seems to be going
fine..then the setup screen gets to the where it
says "FINALIZING INSTALLATION: Setup will complete in

i need to reinstall windows xp. can anyone help in
describing the steps necessary to reinstall? i assume it
can be overlayed vs. a complete reinstall?

When I try to setup XP Pro using the six floppies, I get
a error message saying :
file dimo.sys caused an unexpected error (4096) at line
5882 in d:\xpclient\base\boot\setup\setup.c .

I have a windows 98 machine with two hard drives (9G primary, 40G
secondary).  The second hard drive has two partitions, one to win98,
one unused.
I want to install XP on the unused partition, in a dual boot fashion.

Building a new system with all new hardware. When I try
and setup Win XP, I am able to format the hard drive, and
then copy files to hard drive. Then it reboots, and gives
screen, asking where I what partition I want to install

I am having problems with XP not booting past agp440.sys.
I have disabled the driver and it just stops at mup.sys and if you disable
that is stops at ndis.sys.
I need help to resolve this issue.

I am running Windows XP on a Celeron 1.7GHz machine and it
is extremely slow.  This may be attributed to that fact

I am trying to install and configure a local 'Software
Update Server' to deploy updates to our clients.  The
server is installed fine and sucessfully downloaded the
security patches, however I have a problem when trying to

Hi, I have tried to install the SUS client on 2
computers, both running XP, one with SP1 and I get the
error : "Auto Update requires windows 2000 SP2 or Windows
XP".  Since I am installing on XP this makes no sense.

when i shut the computer down i.e.log out completely
it takes a couple of minutes before the computer

I have been trying to burn a unattended setup cd with $oem$ folder for oem
preinstall files, but when i try to burn it as a bootable cd it tries to
chagne the $oem$ to _oem_ folder name in ez-cd creator, nero seems to give
me problems too just in a diffrent way (the cd wont boot!) ...

Hi Group,
Last week i had 2 install 12 workstations with adaptec raid cards
(2110s) in WinXp Pro. Installing the first computer i had 2 load the
raid drivers from floppy during bootup pressing the F6 key.

I have the following lockup occur when installing either
XP Pro or XP Home on a new computer.
Motherboard A7V8X-X
512 meg ram - PC3200 - as per mother board specs
