After installing new HD Seagate 40gig and a new Video

For a few months I have this entry showing in the Add or Remove
Programs list in my XP Professional computer. I think it was not there
when I installed XP about 18 months ago. I am not a software
developer. I use the computer for text, spreadsheets, images, music.

I am at my wits end. I was trying to install Windows XP,
an upgrade and I was almost done until I received an
error.  A window popped up with "Fatal Error", that they
can't install one of the components nec to install

I pucrchased a computer April 2002 with Windows XP home
edition - OEM plus - we have lost the key code.  my son
has called microsoft twice and neither key code works any
suggestions?

i cannot get past the start-up page (i think that is what
it is called).  i tried to get into safe mode, but
cannot. nor can i get into any other mode. it is asking
me to reinstall hal.dll.

Have a system with Home.  I'm going to upgrade to Pro.  
Will I need to redo all the Service Pack and critical
updates?  I have dial-up access, and attempts to archive
current updates have failed (burner problems).

After almost 1-1/2 years, my mainboard went bad. After
replacing the mainboard, CPU, & DDR RAM, I am receiving

I can boot to my Windows XP disk and Windows setup
begins.  At first it starts loading all those drivers you
