I just purchased a computer that had XP home edition
already installed (Compaq S5100NX).  It is replacing an
older computer (HP with 75Mhz pentium) that has Windows 98
on a 20GB Maxtor drive.  I have put the old drive in the

issue W very nice Ide controllers  That intel is using on
Embedded Chips  that Xp cannot deal with on install , But

Install finally took, but the sorry thing won't let me log
on. Asking for GUEST ACCOUNT and password. How in the hell
do I get started to even log on and CHANGE the user
accounts? Us there some kind of default setting not known

PC hangs opening MS Word, MS Excel, IE 6, other apps.; Task Mgr will not
close them - PC needs reboot to unhang and open apps.  I have rebooted 3
times today!  Rebooting drops many settings.
Sometimes I will find that my home page has been reset.

I have a SCSI disk that was giving access problems. Today
I connect the machine and windows XP has unable to write
and read the disk. I when to manage disks and I
reactivate the disk... :( and I lose everything !!! Can

I am trying to load an OEM version of XP onto a computer

How do you limit how much disk space XP will use. I have installed only
XP on a 5gb hd and its eaten it all. There are no other software in that
