I had to re-instal WinXP Home after a power failure. The
orginial was in the directory C:\Windows. The new one I
put in C:\Winxp. After checking the new instalation, I
archive the old directory (C:\windows)to a CD.

Im trying to install windows XP professional on a brand
new system i have made, unfortunatly im having problems
with the installer. the motherbaord is a Gigabyte 8KNXP
P4 Titan series 875P and the drive i have attahed to it

Recently I made the choice of upgrading one of my Win2000
Pro workstations to Win XP using the MSDN DVD #2305 (July
2003). The particular disc is labeled, "Windows XP
Professional with Service Pack 1a".

During upgrade installation of XP home from Win98 2nd
edtion I get a error message that reads

I just installed Win XP Home OEM to my computer C:
drive.  Two hard drives are installed on the primary IDE
connector (Master C + Slave D).  They have been working
correctly for months in this configuration.
