I have Gateway computer, 500MHz P3 that came ready for 98, or NT. I upgraded it to XP and it randomly locks up on boot. Typically when the desktop is just being rendered the cursor will hang and the system is frozen.

I have a couple laptops IBM x21/x31 that don't have CD drives. How can I install windows on them? I have a USB CD drive (Backpack). I can boot off a USB floppy with the Win setup disks, but that doesn't load the USB CD drivers. Can I add them to the boot disk somehow?

Has any body suceeded in installing these two OS on the same machine and making dual boot setuup? I tried twice and failed. XP start up file get corrupted. Here is my config.

When installing an usb device (i.e. camera) the installtion progress does not find the files in c:\i386\driver.cab. When I expand the files 'by hand' and type in the target directory, it works fine.
