When I try to install programs such as Norton or even the
Windows XP Service Packs, the initialization bar always
stops about 2/3 of the way through and stays there for a
very long time until finally it loads and the program

I am trying to do a clean install from windows 2000 to
XP.  The install projess goes fine until all of the files
are copied from the CD.  Then an error message: "Setup
unable to read or write to drive C: ..." occurs.  I have

I accidentally uninstalled SP1 on my kids computer, now I
can't get the Updates page to open. Anyone else had this

I have a Windows 2K3 server that I am using as a RIS
server.  I have about 4 XP images on the server at this
time.  I went to RIS a pc the other day and went to the
usual custom setup, but it never gave me a list of images

I have set up a multiboot system with WinXP Pro as the fourth OS installed.
When I boot to the first OS (Win98se), or to the last one (WinXP Pro) I get

I wanted to install winxp pro  but got
the message below:
file\i386\kdcom.dll could not be loaded.
The error code is 4.

I have Gateway computer, 500MHz P3 that came ready for
98, or NT.  I upgraded it to XP and it randomly locks up
on boot.  Typically when the desktop is just being
rendered the cursor will hang and the system is frozen.

I have a couple laptops IBM x21/x31 that don't have CD drives.  How can I
install windows on them?  I have a USB CD drive (Backpack).
I can boot off a USB floppy with the Win setup disks, but that doesn't load
the USB CD drivers.  Can I add them to the boot disk somehow?

Has any body suceeded in installing these two OS on the same machine and
making dual boot setuup?
I tried twice and failed. XP start up file get corrupted.
Here is my config.

When installing an usb device (i.e. camera) the installtion progress does
not find the files in c:\i386\driver.cab.
When I expand the files 'by hand' and type in the target directory, it works
fine.

computer, and it successfully installed over his Windows

I would like to reinstall XP Pro on my machine.  My machine became
unstable and would exit load up and go into a troubleshooting routine.
    I was unable to correct the problem so I was forced to reinstall XP
Pro.  Only,I have lost the product key.  I did register the software
