  when i try to load microsoft word it starts and then the
windows installer starts and comes back with another window
saying that this feature is on another resourse thats
unavalable, click ok and try another path with the folder

When I purchaced my Laptop computer it came preloaded with
Windows XP Home.  My company does not support XP on their
network so they formated the entire hard drive and
installed 98SE and erased all my setup files that were on

I upgraded my MoBo (and almost everything else).
I tried to "repair" my WinXP Pro install and it wouldn't
boot from HDD.  BIOS says "press any key to boot from
CD".  If I don't it does nothing.

when I try to install updates it fails and says the
update is not signed by microsoft.  I re-registered all
the digital signing dll's as per a kb article and now it
starts to install and takes for ever then says update

Ok... I have finally installed a new MoBo and sound card,
etc.  I am using the same HDD and CPU from my original
HP/Compaq.  I figure my liscence is still good - there is

i bought a 120 gb sata hdd to replace my 30 gb 5400 rpm
system drager.  Well windows 98 doesn't recognize drives
over 51 gb I think.  So I can't upgrade.  Any sugestions

Recently I upgraded a Windows 98 machine to Windows xp Pro. I used the
Wizard to transfer all Files and Settings. In
the past no one complained or reported any problem, Files and Settings have
transfered accordingly without a glich.

How do I set up Microsoft Windows XP so that when the
