I've tried to re-install windows on top of pre-existing XP
professional.
After setup, I get the error message "Windows XP Setup
cannot run under Safe Mode. Setup will restart now."  If I
manifest parse error31 Dec 2003 23:09 GMT1
Had this error message during install, SXS.DLL Syntax
error in manifest or policy file "E\1386\asms\6000
\MFST\windows\common\controls\ controls.man on line 0
Can't go any further with install, can anybody help?

installed windows xp last night at home. now get message
system shut down by nt authority system. remote procedure
call service and then counts down 60 seconds and reboots.
did not install as nt used fat32.

After installation reboot, I get the message  "File
\$WIN_NT$.~LS\i386\ntkrnlmp.exe could not be loaded.  The
error code is 14"  Tried everthing.  Any ideas?

I always get not enough disk space error, even after
cleaning of the requested amount of space.  The installer
just says more space is needed next time you run it.

I got an error on an existing XP system.  The error said

HP doesn't send a recovery disk with their PCs.  I need

A while ago while trying to do a repair install, I
accidentally started to intstall another version of win
xp. At least that's what I think I did because now when I

NAV deleted a couple of XP files (HOSTDLL & SVCHOST) after being infected by the Welchia worm. My system is running fine at the moment. How do I re-install these files & are they important ?
