On my sons new PC it lists Win xp home edition twice and you have to choose
the highlighted one to continue to start up.  How do I get rid of this?

You will not get that one to boot.  It's a copy right? I
know that you can create bootable cd's through roxio and
nero.  I just have not been able to create one nor do I
know if it is possible to make a bootable os cd.  I tried

I had to disable Hyperthreading in XP in order for
Cleansweep to work.  Will this slow down my system or

Novice here.  I just purchased a machine from Gateway with
XP Home Edition already loaded.  I want to partition the
hard drive into C: & D:.  Since the disk has no
unallocated space it appears I cannot add a D: drive.

I just did a fresh install of XP (formatted hard drive).
When prompted for the names of the users I gave four
names. When I then can to the logon screen with the icons
for the four users, I clicked on any of them and I am

gotten a dual boot situation.  One choice is XP and onother is listed
as "windows" which doesn't work.

manyfilenames.dll.  This is happening when loading and I
have tried several CD rom drives.  The disk is brand new,
but I still get this error.  If I skip it it might find
