New to Dell PCs.  Would like to delete My Way since find
it is annoying and time consuming. I still am unable to
get email but know set up properly with ISP since works
on old PC and set up with them.  How do I delete My Way

I am trying to install windows xp pro into my new hard
driver, right out of the box.  But when it starts to
install it says "THe file atapi.sys is corrupted. Press
any key to continue" I do so and it says "setup fail"

Hi, I am installing windows xp home edition on a new
computer.  It boots to the cd and then loads all the
files and drives.  I go through the NTFS format of the
drive and then continue to the rest of the setup and

I am using XP Pro and until recently things worked fine
enough, but since trying to reinstall XP from the disc to
correct another glitch (like I did a couple times with
the original 98se), every time I reboot the computer

i had to reprogram xp  home edtion.  in doing so i am
noticing my norton 2002 can not be installed. it kicks
out after trying to update  and not finding the license
agreement.  i bought the machine through ibm  and it was

i tried to install xp home edition(upgrade) over windows
me. i get a message saying it does not recognize any
windows o.s. on my computer and i should place my me cd in
the cd drive. my computer came with me already installed

and I am having a problem. There is no hardware
incompatability, I checked. It loads the installation
files, reboots and hangs on the microsoft windows page(38
minutes so far) and doesn't get to the point where the

I am installing a new MB and CPU.  When I reboot, I get
an "NTLDR is missing" error.  I copied the file from the
i386 folder.  but still no go.  
Any ideas?

I'm in deep doo-doo. I installed Windows XP Pro at my
office after already installing it at home. When I tried
to activate, I learned it was not kosher and needed to

i am trying to install XP on a harddrive with no OS.  all
i am getting is "setup is inspecting your computer's
hardware configuration..." this has been happening for the
past hour.  so far it has done nothing.

Here's what i've got, i had a computer that i made my self.
I had SOYO Motherboard and P4 2.4c. I replaced the
motherboard to Intel D875PBZ and procrsor to P4 3.0, and
kept the same hard drive, i hooked everything up started

Could someone please explain the meaning of the various
terms in the boot.ini file? I am often switching
Harddrives and occasionaly end up getting a message at
boot time that the system can't boot because of a hardware
