hi, i have been having some bad troubles lately...
i have been trying to install windows xp on my comp, and
it just wont work... i have tried many times, but i keep
getting a general protection fault when trying to load xp

hey i need to reinstall windows XP but my disk is
completely scratched and the computer doesn't recognise
it, however my parents just bought a new computer and
they have an XP disk, could i use their disk with my CD-

Apparently the installation went OK.  I had to remove a
bad stick of RAM to get it to install, though.
Now when my PC is going through the boot sequence, it says
there was some problem, and asks if I want to continue in

I just finished removing a non-System hard disk from my
system (running XP-Home) which has a total of 4 hard disks
and replaced it with another. The System was not on either
of these disks and the System used to boot just fine

IN XP pro, about 1 out of every 10 shutdowns, I get an error that ccAPP is
not responding, and it will not  shut down without me manually using the End
Now button.
What is ccApp, any way to get around this?

Hi all.  We just recieved HP D530 SFF and CMT as well as XW4100 machines with Broadcom netextreme gigabyte NIC's installed.  After some juggling was able to get the RIS install of our XP pro image with SP1 to go but on first reboot after the text portion where it enters the GUI ...

Is there a way to make a Windows XP installation CD with the 824146 (worm
virus) patch included?
We're using Microsoft Campus Agreement and the Windows product key is built
into the disk.  But the worm virus is not included, and for that reason we

I too am having the same issue as RE: XP RIS error and it is not unexpected
and the issue seems clear. My image is fully patched and probably contains
one or more hotfixes that modifed the ntoskrnl. I have, of course made sure
the flat image had all SP levels slipstreamed.

GX150. Just received XP from MS.
Goes through most of install, but when the system reboots
into XP for the final setup it dies before asking for the

Upgrade compatibility test I conducted online seemed
promising so I bought it at COMP USA.  I tried installing
XP Home (upgrade) to my PC with Windows 98 on it tonight
and got a fatal error during the install (59AFF58h).
