I am in the process of downloading Office 2000
Professional to Windows XP and I continue to get this
error message and "win.ini not found.
what do I do???

I am having trouble installing a fresh copy of xp with the
boot disk program. every time on either the 2nd or third
disk an error comes up. I have tried different disks etc
but still hte same. It has an error code of 7 or 512.

I have a fully patched Windows XP HOME SP1 installation.
Recently something makes the computer reboot in the middle of loading the
OS.  I can't bring the system up in safe mode either - it dumps 64kb then
reboots before the Windows Logo Appears.  I've been able to pull up the

Like anonymous, I have also been getting an error during
setup when using the bootdisks.
In my instance I get "error 14" on disk 3. I've tried

option did not work (various corrupt Win2k Pro files
preventing any web downloads). I now have both XP Pro &

sure enough, the Mac "sees" all my shared Windows folders.  Now, how can I
