I've just upgraded from W98 to XP Home and the process
completed ok and XP runs fine. However, I have a problem
in that none of my XP compliant applications were
upgraded (ie Outlook, Office etc).

I am about to purchase Windows XP from my computer but I
would like to keep my Windows 98 on the same computer
instead of buying a whole new system.

The current machine is Windows 98SE, I bought a new motherboard, disk and XP
Home OEM bundled in.  I want to perform an upgrade not a new install.
Should I do the 98SE to XP upgrade first - will OEM version allow this? If
not is there a workaround?

I had been wanting to upgrade my laptop (DELL Inspiron
5000) for sometime.  Two weeks ago I took the plunged and
upgraded my 9 gb hard drive for a 40 gb.  When I did this
I upgraded my OS from 2000 pro to XP pro.  Reloaded all

I got a new hard drive and formatted it using NTFS. When
I try and install XP, during the copying of the files I

Just wondering, I have copyed wpa.dbl (and wpa.dbl.bak or whatever that one
is) onto a floppy disk, yet whenever I do a reinstall (a full format
install, ie, from scratch) on the same hardware, it still asks me to
activate my copy. Does anyone have any idea why?
