I'm trying to upgrade from 98SE and shortly after the
upgrade starts it kicks the system off and reboots.  The
system is a Celeron 566, 5 GB HDD, 192 MB RAM.  I've
reformatted and reinstalled 98 2 or 3 times with the same

My hard drive crashed last week so had to format and
reinstall all programs on new hard drive. Original and
recovery discs contained a trial Word Perfect Office,
which needed to be uninstalled to allow for installation

Is there any way to get the login screen for XP Pro to work like the
login screen for XP Home? I have both. XP Home edition provides a
screen with an icon for each user account. To login the user clicks
his account icon and then enters his password.

I have had many problems installing this upgrade, from
missing files, which ask me to insert files of an XP
support disk which was not included, to an error mesage at
the end of installation saying that it has failed, and

I tried loading XP pro. from an oem disc. to upgrade my
windows 98. the result was a repartitioning of my hard
drives so 98 runs on C drive and XP runs on D drive. I

anymore.  Are there limitations on how many installs you

the same now) installed on multiple partitions, i.e. windows on C:,
program files (PF) on D:, and Documents and Settings (D&S) on E:
I found that I can only move D&S with an unattend.txt settings which

Got a load of new Toshiba laptops with the Intel Pro 100/1000 VE NIC, and
have had NO luck updating Windows PE with the NIC drivers!  I load Windows
PE from RIS, and I have tried adding the drivers under the \I386 folder as
indicated in the WinPE.chm file, but no joy!  I keep ...

When I installed xp pro onto a new 40Gb hard drive it
created a 3Gb drive "C" and a 37Gb drive "d" .. due to
something it called dos limit !
As xp has taken up nearly all the 3Gb can someone tell me
