I'm going to upgrade one of my desktops from Windows 2000
to XP Pro.  My question is, is it better to back up all
data, wipe the hard drive, and do a clean install with

My hard drive experienced sector issues that NTFS could not resolve so some of the XP files were bad. I reinstalled Service pack one hoping to refresh them but that did not fix all.
