I've used WindowsUpdate successfully on this PC about 5
times. Today, after update installed a few items and
requested a reboot, the PC will not reboot in regular mode
or in Safe mode or to Last Known Good. No restore floppy

After setting up Windows XP Home, the mouse driver has
been incorrectly set to a USB mouse instead of a serial
mouse. As a result of rebooting, we can't get any further
than the log on screen as both mouse and keyboard function

I had to reinstall Windows XP after a hard drive failure
required purchase of a new hard drive.  XP appeared to
install without problems but now every time I log on to
the Internet I receive the following error message:

Having installed a new copy of XP professional by
upgrading from windows 98, I receive a message after the
computer has been on for about 15mins on the following

I hope someone can help me.  After receiving an e-mail
from my computer's manufacturer suggesting that I do a
repair installation of Windows XP from my recovery CD, I
encountered problems in the set up stage.  Set up runs for

It is possible to have Windows XP Professionnal installation supporting more than 2 physical processors. For example let say I want to install Windows XP professionnal on a server platform having more than 2 physical processors.

I have a japanese exchange student and when I went to
jp.aol.com for japanese email it said I was missing the
xjis.nls file and to put my windows xp cd in and
install.  I have home version in english and I don't know

I need to "pin" an icon to the start menu for my domian
users.  Where does microsoft hide the pinned icons in the
user profile.  I have checked the user profile folders and
registry with no luck. Hopefully someone can point me in

I'm am trying to figure out how to make sysprep work on
computers with different hardware.  Does factory mode have
to be used for this?  Usually the computers are different
types of Dell Optiplex computers, but the users do get

A downloaded RIS Riprep image will not accept the XP
Volume License Key when prompted for the PID during
setup.  How can this problem be resolved?

Due to problems we had to format our C:drive (deleted partition, made new dos prim.partition and formatted it). Now we're trying to make a new installation of XP, but setup will not continue because it didn't find any harddisk.....
C:drive is working because we can setup Win98, ...

The taskmon.exe file was infected with W32.Novarg.A@mm.
I renamed it XXXtaskmon.exe and ran a virus check with
Norton Anti-Virus.
This automatically deleted it.

I got a new computer without an OS and would like to install the XP Home from my old computer on it. I'm not going to use my old computer anymore. Can I do this and will it activate on my new computer? thanks.
