I'm running XP Pro (supplied by HP) on an HP laptop.  Has
run fine for several months.  Upgraded with SP2 no
problem.  But recently at log on the Windows installer
appears and the system tries to install previously

I have a Compaq notebook on which I had to do a repair
install of XP, at Compaq's instruction (had a missing or
corrupted boot-up system file).  Looked like everything
worked OK, it asked for the product key, I entered it.

i am having trouble with installing winXP on my new computer that is set up
with sata RAID 0. i tried to use the F6 pre-installation method with a floppy
that has the intel app.acc. driver files but then i got the following error:

Is there any way to specify where automatic updates will be downloaded? I
have an extremely small (3GB) partition setup for windows, and I would like

I installed Service Pack 2 (SP2) on windows xp professional with Visrus Scan
antivirus, no other application is installed, and Joined the domain.
First time domain user logins and everything works fine, group policy works
