Just installed Service pack 2 on a machine

Just tried to install XP Pro on a new PC with SATA HDD and
setup tells me it cannot find a HDD, should I have a driver
for this?

I can figure out easily enough how to reformat my 2 disks, but I don't
understand how I'll reinstall windows xp pro.  I guess in bios I can specify
the cd rom as the boot dirve, but will the computer recognize the cd drive
when I boot the computer?
