I did a clean install of xp home for a gentleman, when he went to activate the software it wouldn't activate. I did an upgrade install over the clean install with his cd and attempted to activate it again. this time it told me

yesterday i was getting the log in and then automatically log out problem. I went into the recovery console and copied userinit.exe. But when i restarted i am not getting the message Windows could not start because of the folloing file is missing or corrupt:

Client brought Dell notebook with reloaded XP Home (original disks reloaded due to broken kernal). Windows Update page gives a greyed "Install Updates" and appears to never check for updates. NO ERROR is ever given.

Hi, after installing sp2 the memory usage increased significantly, from 70-80MB free to 40MB free. The biggest hog seems to be IE. Does anybody know if this is normal? If yes, is there a way to alleviate this? P.S. MS should increase memory requirement of XP with SP2.
