I know I can use RIS server for a unattended network installation but... is there a way to install WindowsXP from an FTP,HTTP or SMB share like you can do with Linux?

I got the error as described in http://support.microsoft.com/kb/888162 (partial installation) Now when I follow the steps to resolve the situation it works up until the uninstallation of sp2 is about to finish. I get the following messages:

Over the years, I've occasionally had trouble with sysprep removing network cards. It doesn't always do it, just sometimes. I've never been able to narrow down exactly when it might or might not remove a NIC.

One one of two accounts on my Win XP Home Edition, every time it logs on, it opens Eindows Explorer to folder System32. Any guidance on how to stop this action? I don't see anything in Startup or other spots that I could think of looking.
