Could someone please explain the procedure to pre-install SP2. My OEM XP Home
CD is pre SP1 and formats my new 160gig hard drive as 131gigs. Board is P4
and Bios identifies the HD corectly.

I have a system (dual cpu opteron, ultra300 scsi (atapted 7902B)) for
which setup fails with a 'no hard disk drives recognized'.

I have had no success upgrading XP Professional to SP2.  The update fails
with the message "Access is Denied".
Checking file setupapi.log in the Windows directory, I see:

I have left over folders from a failed xp2 install that I cannot remove.
Every time I try I get cannot remove as folders are in use.
They have a zero value and are annoying.
