Trying to install sp2 on a used PC I bought about a year ago. Never had trouble with other updates, but I'm now getting a setup error - "The product key used to install Microsoft WIndows may not be vaild" What does this mean exactly and what are my best options for resolving this

I'm shortly due to go buy a new copy of XP for a second computer. Is it possible to use this new install CD on my first computer, but use the license key that came with its original copy of XP, so as to perform a full reinstall to SP2 in the future if need be ?
