Have some experience with very smooth installs in Wme, W2000, and Linux.
Latest attempt at Wxp install goes fine all the way from partitioning 3

During install I reach the section for partitioning.  I made a partition and
decided that I didn't want to partion at all.  I deleted the partition and
exited setup to begin again since I was stuck in the partition screen.  Now
when I boot up I get to the "Boot from CD..." ...

I get "setup cannot copy the file branches.inf" in the middle of installing
SP2. It can'd find the location to copy the file from. It gives me a default
path; something like "C:\dc(then a bunch of
numbers)]i386\update\branches.inf."

When I turn on the computer, it always opens with the "C:\Program" window.  I
always have to close this window. How can I turn this off, so the computer
starts
