I recently bought a new HP A330N, which has XP Home, now to my issue, i have an old hard drive from my old machine that is running windows 2000, is it possible to put that hard drive in my new system and "dual boot" and update drivers for new motherboard and cards?

I came across a couple of websites that were selling Windows XP Home and Pro complete with service pack 2a. Is this a typo? Or has MS already issued a second version of the service pack like they did with SP1 when the Java proprietary issue was addressed in SP1a?

my e-machine recovery cd's are damaged, so i bought a new copy of xp home, and it will not load...it will not get past the checking your hardware part, then the screen just goes black.

I suspect some machines that I have cloned with Ghost may have identical SID's (if I did not run ghostwalker). How can I check what is the machine specific sid on a typical machine? Any idea how I can generate a report of all the workstations to show which are duplicates? Thanks

I posted a similar question yesterday, but now have some more information: I am trying to install Windows XP Pro on a brand-new hard disk. Setup will run find through the text-based phase, recognizing the new drive, partition it and format it (NTFS).

I'm having lot's of problems on XP with applications that worked fine on 98. (e.g. Autoexec.nt), I almost want to switch back to 98. Is it possible to have both XP & 98 installed in the same time and choosing which one to run each time you boot the computer? Thanks.
