I've just reloaded WIndows XP from the recovery partition on my HP Pavilion. Everything is working fine now but when I click on the HP recovery partition in My Computer, there's nothing there. Have the files/directories become hidden some how?

We purchased a laptop with XP Home SP2 installed and I want to upgrade it to XP Pro using our organization's volume licensed software. Unfortunately, the media I have for Pro is pre-SP2 so the upgrade won't work because Windows thinks I'm installing an older version.

Is it possible to use a text file to get a computer name from and in the process delete this name from the file which resides on network share? We are thinking about adding a bat file at the end of the imaging process that does this?
