I need to switch over from a workgroup to a domain. I am purchasing and installing a Win2003 server. I read that when switching, a new user folder is created. This is not bad for desktops, but what about laptops?

My friend has viruses on her pc. ( subscription expired so wont work)she has asked me to format and reinstal XP Pro for her. Question is. If i format the drive knowing there is viruses on there, will formatting remove the viruses.. then i can install xp and she can the get new

why does it take so much longer to Load Personal Settings when logging onto the domain than it does logging onto the local machine? Physically the domain server is 6' away.

Don't know if anyone has BDD v2 experience but I'm running through the Enterprise edition to do a "Zero Touch" re-deployment of a machine. I'm a bit stuck on a couple of things which I can't find adequate information on.

I've created an XP image and when I go to install the image on another machine (same spec as the one I created the image on) I get the error message: "The operating system image you selected does not contain the neccessary drivers for your network adapter etc etc"

Using windows XP pro, I already have a slip stream copy but is there a way to modify my cluster size to 16k? I want it to match my 16k array on raid 0. I'm trying to do a clean install on 16k cluster size after formatting. Thank you:)

I need to find a way to write a script that will change the name of the computer, and possibly it's workgroup membership. I think I know how to do the computer name, but I cannot find ANY information about where the workgroup name is stored, or how to change it.

After install Win XP Pro in the PC at c drive, following through the procedure to install the embeded XP in directory D. After that try to replicate the application from Win XP Pro in drive c to drive D, not succesful. Don't know why.
