I am getting ready to deploy a clean install with XP Pro on about 85 clients
and I have no help here. Now I see that I can use sysprep if all my machines
are the same but their not the HD sizes vary, Memory varies, Processor
speeds also vary.

Because of all sorts of problems I formatted my C Drive. Then started
to reinstallWindows XP. Everything went fine until it came to 'install
Network ' at 32 minutes left and that is as far as it got.

I recently joined a firm and decided to do a complete system restore on the

I took a working system, upgraded the MB, installed the

I get about 13 New Hardware Found dialog boxes.  Most of

Setup was unable to copy SPTIP.DL_ and ir41_32.ax during installation.  I
retried then continued.  All seems okay so after a little research at this
discussion group, I cleaned the cd disk and was able to exand SPTIP.DL_ and
rename it to SPTIP.DLL in c:\Windows\system32

XP Home SP2's Sysprep behaviour overwrites the contents of Default User with
that of the Owner account.  Apparently, if there's no Owner account, it will
overwrite it with the contents of Administrator (default behaviour on XP
Pro).

I run a Dell Dimension 4400 desktop with WinXP Home SP2.  My 20GB hard
drive has crashed twice in the last month and gives multiple errors in
the Dell Diagnostic Test.  I intend to buy and install a second hard
