Hi, my problem is this... I have to install several times xp prof. in differents Hws...(specially Hard disk). But in every machine the HD must have 2 partitions. (HD size/2).

I just got new parts for my computer, excluding the hard disk and cd-rom drives. I've been trying to install Windows XP but it always hangs at 34 or 35 minutes remaining. I've tried everything I could to remedy this problem but it doesn't work!

I have XP pro and am trying to setup certain user accounts for different purposes. 1 account for authoring DVDs and other intensive activities where I want to only load minimal services, drivers maybe even disable the network card and spyware s/w.

Due to a system breakdown, I reinstalled the XP O/S from the CD. The previous Programs folder is intact with all its contents, but the new Start menu does not carry links to any of the existing programs. Can the existing Program Installations continue to be used?

When SP2 came out last fall, I got great advice on this site for how to stop the Critical Update program trying to jam it down my throat. I made some registry modification. Now SP2 is back on the Critical Update list.
