The updater from Microsoft said that I should install 14 new updates. I went to Microsofts' website and started the update process. After rebooting the only thing the computer does now is reboot when it hits the MUP.SYS

I've got a new laptop from Dell pre-loaded with WindowsXP and Microsoft Office. It always has "registry data not found" error message on start up and I have to click OK to get rid of it. Should I worry? Does it matter? If it does, how do I fix it? Thanks (IT ignoramous!)
